Neeta's Journey: From 10.1 to 5.4
Diagnosed with an HbA1c of 10.1, Neeta rebuilt her plate around millets, greens, and unhurried meals — and watched the numbers, and her energy, change.
The number that started everything
When Neeta first saw her HbA1c at 10.1, the diagnosis felt heavier than the reading itself. Medication helped, but she knew the deeper work would happen on her plate and in her routine — not in the pharmacy aisle.
Rebuilding the plate
She swapped polished rice for foxtail and little millets, layered every meal with seasonal greens, and made dal, vegetables, and a small portion of grain the new normal. Sugar quietly left the kitchen. Walks after dinner became non-negotiable.
Five-point-four, and steady
Eighteen months later, her HbA1c read 5.4. The bigger shift was harder to measure — clearer mornings, calmer afternoons, and a sense that her body was on her side again. Slow food, kept up daily, did what nothing dramatic could.
